The 4 Best Atv Cargo Boxes

You’re out on the trail, the sunset is coming down perfectly and you’re enjoying the company of your buddies.

Maybe one of them even brought along a Bluetooth speaker and you’re jamming to an old favorite.

Then it hits you, it would be great to be able to grab a drink right now. An ATV cargo box might be your answer. Let’s take a look at some different styles and find the best one for your situation.

Here are the 4 Best ATV Cargo boxes available:

1. Camco 66010 Black Boar ATV Rear Storage Box and Lounger

Sure, this thing doesn’t recline, but that’s what kicking your feet up over the handlebars is for.

But if you’re looking for some comfort over standard options, the Camco lounger is calling your name.

Jokes aside, this is a great cargo box for someone who wants a cushioned seat and room for your stuff. The hard plastic shell of the sides will keep your goodies water free and can stand up to being banged around some.

It comes with a lock to keep your stuff safe and mounting hardware to help you rig it up.The back opens up with 3 separate compartments, you won’t have to worry about spillage as the lips come all the way up.

It’s not too heavy and not too light at about 27 pounds. The only thing we don’t like is that there’s no cushioning on the armrests. Overall this is a great option and very affordable.

2. Titan Attachments ATV UTV Drop Basket Cargo

The Titan Attachments drop basket is a sturdy open-air cargo rack for ATVs and UTVs.

At 42 lbs it’s a decently heavy accessory.

Compared to other boxes, the drawback of this one is your items will be exposed to the elements. At 41 inches across you can fit most rifles in it flat or at least at a slight angle.

This is powder coated and includes mounting hardware. Some riders have commented that the hardware does lend to some vibration.

So, if you’re worried about this vibrating too much when you ride, go ahead and grab some plastic washers to mitigate that.

3. Black Widow ATV Cargo Box

This compact Black Widow Cargo box is one of the lightest in its class.

If you’re looking for some storage, but don’t want to weigh down your ride – you’ll be pleased to find this is only 22 lbs. It comes with reflectors on the back for night rides and two lockdown latches.

The storage is a single compartment, so it’ll take a little more work to stay organized compared to other options.

It has a compact backrest to give you something to lean on as well.

The warranty provided is for one-year. Included is a key for locking it up and all mounting hardware. You will have to drill into the box for mounting unless you can figure out a different solution. It’s a universal fit and you can adjust it to your atv/utv.  Can fit up to 3 helmets with ease.

4. ATV Tek ACBMOB Arch Series Camo Cargo Bag

If a hardshell cargo compartment isn’t your thing, this ATV Tek cargo bag option might be up your alley.

With 3 different compartments in total, including the long rear bag and the smaller side bags – you’ll have plenty of carrying space to fit everything.

You won’t have to worry about water seeping through either, this is made from a waterproof fabric.

Both of the front pockets have drink holders on each side and it’s removable. So if you just want the rear storage compartment, you can detach the other pieces. There is a backrest for comfort. It has a sturdy steel frame underneath for support.

Something we really liked is the zipperless design, everyone has had situations where a zipper breaks off and with enough use, it will happen. The ATV Tek bag avoids that by using straps instead. You can fit a rifle or a bow in the back.

Is there an ATV Cargo Box with speakers?

There isn’t a cargo box with speakers built into them specifically. So there is not a plug and play combo, but there are Bluetooth speakers that can fit on top of a cargo box. You could also mount them to the front of your ATV or find a creative way to set them up. Boss Audio has a Bluetooth speaker option or you could opt for other units that have the more traditional separate speaker setup.

Things we recommend you put in your cargo box

If you are going to have all that new fancy storage room on your ATV, use it for good! You’ll still have plenty leftover. We recommend you bring a couple of things besides ice cold beer.

They are – a tire plug kit. You’ll be glad you got one, when some random nail gets embedded in your tire and you won’t be able to make it back in time a tire kit can be a welcome addition to any ATV rider.

Tire inflator. You’ve lost the air, now it’s time to pump it back up! You heard me right, how dare you leave that tire feeling sad. With a tire inflator – after you plug it, you can pump it full of confidence again.

Assuming you have water, those two things above are the most important for trail riding in our humble and superiorly correct opinion. We don’t think superiorly is a word, but yeah you get it.

Conclusion

There are plenty of options for cargo boxes nowadays, with some geared towards comfort and other geared towards functionality. If you’re looking for a comfortable ride, our first choice is the best.

But, you can always add cushioning to another unit if you like the functionality it provides. The ATV Tek is a great option for hunters and people that need more room. Since it’s not a hard shell you’ll be able to cram more essentials in there. Plus, at the price, it’s a steal for what you’re getting.

Titans drop basket option is a heavy-duty steel solution and the mesh design helps it to not accumulate gunk. You can throw your bags on it or anything else. If you’re not looking for a locking hard shell unit, this is the best “open air” choice.

We hope we helped you make up your mind, and that you find the best option for your needs.
