Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Bike Trunk Mount Rack, Model 102DN-R

Editors Favorite

Allen Sports is known for this extremely popular Trunk Mount Racks.

Perhaps you’ve seen it while out and about, we like it for a couple of reasons. The main one is that it doesn’t require any additional hardware.

Everything you need to set this up is included with the kit. It hooks into your cars frame with straps and can be adjusted for a tight, secure fit.

The second thing we really like about this is that it’s affordable. You can get this for a fraction of the price of the big hitch-style mounts! And if you need more than a 2-bike carrier, there are more options. Allen has a carrier that can hold up to 4 bikes.

If you want a simple and affordable option, this is a great pick.

Tyger Auto has a similar tension fit like we’ve just seen in the Allen Rack.

But this is a bit more of a heavy-duty option. The parts, joints and even the straps are all a little thicker(wink).

Okay but really, this will cost more but you can probably see the difference in build quality pretty clearly.

They offer a 1, 2, and 3 bike option. This comes completely assembled and a really cool addition is that there is a lifetime warranty for the Deluxe Rack.

Thule Passage Trunk Mount Carrier

Thule is known for a couple of things. Firstly, they make really good products. Two, they’re all expensive!

That’s just the trend with Thule, so if you want to spend a bit more on a quality construction then this is one of the brands where you can really see they go above and beyond.

The Archway XT carrier is a solidly constructed testament to that narrative. There is a version that holds two bikes and one that holds three. And it’s the final tension fit in this guide.

Like all over-engineered Thule products, they have their own patented dampening system to reduce vibration in this rack while you drive. Etrailer made a review so you can see it in action below, and this particular video showcases a Camry. We think you’ll agree, this thing looks pretty good.

Pro-Series 63134 Q-Slot 2 Black 2-Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier

Editors Favorite

The last two options in this list require additional components. This carrier requires you have a hitch installed already.

But if you do, and you want a very secure steel piece of hardware supporting your bike, then take a look at the BV rack.

This carrier folds up when not in use, and it can tilt out of the way so you can open up your trunk without obstructions.

Hitch racks and bike racks tend to cost more than tension fits. But you’ll most likely have more piece of mind with something like this. It’s connected to your bike at 3 contact points. Both the wheels and the padded frame holder.

The reflector is a nice touch as well! This is our favorite for those of you who have a hitch, or plan to get one installed.

Swagman UPRIGHT Roof Mount Bike Rack

Editors Favorite

To note, this rack requires that you already have roof rack cross bars installed.

Those are components bought separately for your Camry. But, if you do then we love the Swagman Bike rack.

This is a very affordable option as well. And when not in use, this folds down flat. Which makes it a nice upgrade that doesn’t get in the way. The best thing about roof mounted racks is that you don’t have to think about your bike when parking.

Which is why some people prefer them to hitch or tension mounted options. The clear downfall is that if you drive anywhere with low clearances you’ll have to be mindful of the added height.

With that spiel out of the way, we think this is a great budget option bike rack for your roof!

What are the different ways I can mount my bike rack?

In this guide we focused on the options that require no additional hardware. And those are called tension mounts. But hitch mounts and roof mounted bike mounts are also very popular.

Hitch mounted bike racks do take additional hardware, but for those of you with families(3 or more bikes) or a group of friends that bikes together, we think it’s the superior choice.

Roof mounted racks are great for those of you who don’t want to have to worry about a hitch on your car when you’re parking. And we think the tension mounts are probably the most popular options because they’re removable and easy to set up.

Hopefully, this guide helped you make your mind up for a rack that you’d want for your Camry. There are tons of options out there when it comes to bike rack mounts. It can be exhausting.

But we think the best choice for most people is probably going to be the Allen trunk mount rack. You can install it easily or take it apart when not in use, and it’s affordable!

If you choose something from this guide, let us know how it worked out. And we appreciate you stopping by.
